In the afternoon of Hurricane Helene, which has brought unimaginable heartbreak to communities in Georgia the government of Taiwan is immediately reaching out with compassion and solidarity. On October 22, 2024 Taiwan has donated $200,000 through Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Atlanta to support recovery efforts as these communities begin to heal and rebuild.
In times of crisis, it's not just financial support that matters. It's the bond of shared humanity. Our donation goes directly to the American Red Cross, supporting essential relief efforts on the ground.
The Georgia State Assembly Taiwan Caucus co-chairs witnessed the making of this donation. The member from Compatriots Emergency Relief Association, Medical Association, local NGO"We Love Buford Highway" and Taiwanese community leaders also shared their experience of disaster relief and emergency assistance with the staffs from Red Cross. We extend our heartfelt respect and gratitude to these unsung heroes who are bringing comfort and hope to those most affected.
