Director General Vincent Liu of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Atlanta was honored as a member of the 2018 Class of Inductees into the Martin Luther King, Jr. Board of Preachers, Sponsors, Collegium of Scholars and College of Pastoral Leadership.
To commemorate the 50th anniversary of Dr. King’s assassination, Morehouse College’s Martin Luther King, Jr. International Chapel held a special induction ceremony on April 5th as part of the 33rd Annual Martin Luther King Jr. College of Ministers & Laity.
DG Liu was inducted into the Martin Luther King Jr. Board of Sponsors, an honor conferred on non- pastoral leaders. The ten recipients included journalists, broadcast anchors, lawyers, and professors. DG Liu was the only foreign government and Asian officer.
The ceremony was presented by Dr. David A. Thomas, President of Morehouse College. Upon receiving the award, DG Liu expressed his gratitude for Dr. King’s efforts on behalf civil rights and humanity. He also said he appreciated the positive recognition from MLK College for Taiwan’s human rights development.
