The new Representative of the Taipei Representative Office in the UK, Mr Kelly W. Hsieh, visited Oxford on Thursday 17th September and met with a group of Taiwanese students at the University of Oxford who just came back from Taiwan for continuing their studies. Mr Hsieh took the opportunity to learn about their experiences as foreign students in the UK as well as their programmes of study.
The group also discussed the Coronavirus pandemic that has had a major impact upon all aspects of life, including the students’ experience, for much of the year. In the UK, university campuses had to be closed and, as such, many classes had to be delivered via online learning or other means. However, with universities about to welcome students back for a new academic year, Mr Hsieh was keen to learn more about the measures and procedures of the University for the safety of students and faculties. Mr Hsieh was accompanied by Dr Nicole Yen-Yi Lee, Director of Education Division and Yimin Liao, Assistant Director of the Political Affairs Division, to visit Oxford.
