Effective December 1, 2023, TECO-LA's consular service hours will be revised to Monday through Thursday, no consular service on Fridays and Holidays
Service Areas: Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Los Angeles (TECO-LA) is only authorized to authenticate documents that have been issued within our service areas, covering Southern California ( Los Angeles County, San Diego County, Orange County, Riverside County, San Bernardino County, Kern County, Ventura County, Santa Barbara County, San Luis Obispo County and Imperial County), Arizona and New Mexico.
Requirements for Authentication Application of Diploma and Transcript
Applicant's VALID passport or photo ID. If apply by mail or by an agent, a photocopy of the passport or ID notarized by a notary public can be accepted. If it's a R.O.C.(Taiwan) passport, its photocopy can be accepted without notarization.
The document applying for authentication:
The diploma (degree) should be awarded by the Universities or Accredited Postsecondary Institutions and Programs. (Please check the website of Office of Postsecondary Education, U.S. Department of Education: DAPIP)
Please apply the academic transcript and send it to TECO-LA directly from the school or from its authorized agency or institition. By Email, please send to our email address: tecola@mofa.gov.tw; By mail, the mailing address: 3731 Wilshire Boulevard, Suite 700, Los Angeles, CA 90010, U.S.A.
At the end of No.9 of the application form , please write that you have applied the transcript on which date.
If apply by an agent, (1)a notarized Letter of Authorization prepared by the applicant and (2)the agent's photo I.D. are required.
Authentication Fee: $15 for each
Methods of Payment: Cash, money order, or cashier's check. Payable to "TECO". Personal check and credit card will not be accepted.
The photocopy of the diploma/transcript certified by the Bureau of Consular Affairs or the branch Office of MOFA has been charged the authentication fee NT$500 (US$15) in Taiwan, no need to pay the authentication fee again.

1:15 pm to 3:45 pm open for walk-in (limit 35 persons); registration for the afternoon walk-in begins at 9 a.m. on the same day.
Mail-in Application(processing time:1 month):
Please prepare all the requirements, a signed Mail Delivery Service Agreement anda USPS Priority Express Mail return envelope with US$32 postage (If the applicant is in Taiwan, the international mail postage is US$76) .Mail to TECO-LA:3731 Wilshire Boulevard, Suite 700, Los Angeles, CA 90010, U.S.A.
