Full name: Economic Division, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Canada(we are Ministry of Economic Affairs R.O.C. overseas unit in Canada)
History:
- 1966-1971 - originally organized in Ottawa by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, R.O.C. (Taiwan)
- 1991 - reorganized from the “Far East Trade Service, Inc. Toronto Branch Office, Canada” to the “Economic Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Canada” in Ottawa as a separate trade mission
- 1997 - attached to the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Canada(TECO) in Ottawa
Our mission: to promote bilateral trade as well as multilateral economic and trade cooperation, provide trade information, introduce and arrange for Canadian companies to do business with Taiwan.
Other services:
- provide Taiwan and/or Canada Trade Policy information
- assistance in trade dispute(At times, disagreements occur and a solution may require assistance through overseas institutions. These institutions may assist in clarification of a dispute in several aspects in view of mutual benefits but it is not obliged to either initiate an investigation or arbitrate in a legal fashion.)
- provide trade opportunity information
- provide Taiwan International Trade Shows information
- promote trade and investment related programs
