On November 9, Ambassador Baushuan Ger, Ambassador of the Republic of China (Taiwan) to St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and Honorable Frederick Stephenson, Minister of National Mobilization of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, attended the joint hand-over ceremony of two containers of humanitarian aids and fabrics donated by two Taiwanese charitable organizations – “SimplyHelp Foundation” and “Wu Thun-Chih Foundation for Charity and Public Welfare.”
Ambassador Ger said in his remarks that SimplyHelp Foundation delivered countless items to different corners of the world to help the underprivileged people since its establishment. In 2017 alone, the Foundation donated two containers packed with more than 1,000 parcels of goods with a total value of 200,000 US dollars to St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Moreover, with the facilitation of Mrs. Tina Bow, the president of SimplyHelp Foundation, Wu Thun-Chih Foundation for Charity and Public Welfare provided one container of fabrics with the aim to help the disadvantaged women in this country.
Ambassador Ger stated that Dr. Cadrin Gill, the honorary consul general of St. Vincent and the Grenadines in Los Angeles, joined the efforts with SimplyHelp Foundation again by providing 16 boxes of medical supplies to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital. The cooperation between the diasporas in LA demonstrated the staunch relationship between Taiwan and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Minister Stephenson, on behalf of the Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, received the two containers and expressed his appreciation to the long-term support provided by Taiwan.
Minister Stephenson stressed that Taiwan donated four containers between 2016 to 2017, with a total value of 300,000 UD dollars, to benefit the underprivileged people across the country. The Ministry of National Mobilization will make best use of them to aid the people in need.
