Ambassador Ho and Madam Ho, accompanied by Secretary Carrie Kuo, attended the Urbi et Orbi ceremony at noon on Easter Sunday, April 5. The ceremony was presided by His Holiness Pope Leo XIV from the central balcony of St. Peter’s Basilica.
In his first Easter Urbi et Orbi message since the beginning of his pontificate, the Holy Father proclaimed that through His death, Jesus grants us life and peace. By taking upon Himself the sins of the world, He redeems all people, and through the power of God, He rises again. This Paschal Mystery is a triumph in which life conquers death , light overcomes darkness , and love prevails over hatred . The Holy Father emphasized that the true strength of peace lies in mutual respect among individuals, families, societies, and nations . He called for the pursuit of the common good over private interests, stressing that peace does not depend on weapons, but is achieved through dialogues. In conclusion, the Holy Father encouraged all the faithful, noting that the peace bestowed by Jesus not only silences weapons, but also touches and transforms our hearts .
During the ceremony, Ambassador Ho and Madam Ho exchanged Easter greetings with officials of the Holy See and fellow Ambassadors.
