Director General Alex Fan of TECO in Seattle accompanied by Washington State Senator Keith Wagoner and Ms. Wagoner, delivered 100,000 medical masks to the State of Washington on behalf of the Taiwanese government, and received by Washington Secretary of State Kim Wyman on May 8. The medical masks were delivered to Washington State Department of Enterprises Services and will be used by medical personnel, first responders, and election staff workers.
Secretary Wyman expresses her gratitude to Taiwanese citizens’ generosity, the medical masks will help Washington States’ nurses and doctors, election officials protect themselves while they are on duty. Senator Wagoner addresses that Taiwanese people voluntary donation made this so special, and he treasures the bilateral relationship with Taiwan which has the same values as the U.S.
This donation not only represents the close relationship between Washington State and Taiwan but also showcases the humanitarian assistance supported by Taiwanese people through the "National Health Insurance Express mobile app". We again urge that Taiwan should not be excluded from the WHO and more partners and countries can continue to strengthen their support of Taiwan’s meaningful participation in the WHO.
