In order to promote and expand Taiwan brands’ name recognition in the international market, the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Miami (TECO in Miami), in cooperation with Taiwan Trade Center Miami (TAITRA), set up a “Taiwan Brand Fine Works Pavilion” at Asia/America Consumer Electronics and General Merchandise Trade Show, which was held from September 20 to 22, 2011 at the Miami Beach Convention Center. Taiwan’s hi-tech and its modern fashion fine works were displayed, and the Pavilion attracted many international buyers’ attention.
On September 21, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held in front of the Pavilion, dignitary guests such as Mr. Bob Balsam, General Manager of the Miami Beach Convention Center, Mrs. Tsai Hui Wu, Commissioner of the Overseas Compatriot Committee, and other representatives of important Taiwanese companies based in Florida participated in the ceremony.
After the ceremony, a Fashion and Whisky-tasting reception was held where Taiwan’s international award-winning Kavalan Whisky, fashion house Shiatzy Chen’s designs, and award-winner Franz’s porcelain artwork were showcased. Guests and VIPs, including former Congressman Lincoln Diaz-Balart (R-FL), were wowed by the presentation of 2 Shiatzy Chen’s gowns and the fine quality Kavalan Whiskey.
The Taiwan Brand Fine Works Pavilion employed “Diversity of Taiwan’s Fine Works” as its core design concept. The products therein all have been honored with “Taiwan Excellence Award.” They included BenQ’s 1400 mega pixel digital camera, digital pocket projector, LCD screen; MSI‘s high performance laptop; KYE’s wireless RingMouse, wireless solar power keyboard combo, children’s drawing board, web cam; ADATA Technology Company’s external drive, water-proof and shock-resistant flash drive; KWolrd’s USB portable stereo and computer stereo, Pen & Touch Tablet; as well as the Miami-based Transcend’s portable hard drive and camera memory disk.
