An online campaign to solicit photographs has been launched in preparation for the centennial of the Republic of China in 2011, the Council for Cultural Affairs announced Oct. 27.
People in Taiwan or abroad who wish to participate in the campaign are invited to upload their photos where the number 100 and human faces are visible, said the CCA in a news release.
The most creative and inspiring works will be selected to appear on a big screen during the flag-raising ceremony in front of the Presidential Office Jan. 1, 2011, the CCA said.
Some works that have caught the attention of the media are photos featuring local citizens of the Tuvalu and the Solomon islands, submitted by volunteer workers from Taiwan.
So far the website has received around 50 photos, from local residents and expatriates alike, the CAA said, noting that the campaign is open until Nov. 15 of this year.
