CES, the significant trade show in the world for consumer electronics products industry, was held from January 6 to 9, 2016 in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. The trade show celebrated its 48th anniversary this year. More than 3,600 technology companies from across the world exhibited at this world’s largest consumer technology tradeshow. According the organizer, the International CES draws approximately 170,000 visitors from the top industry executives, retail buyers, content providers, entertainment executives, venture capitalists, engineers, government officials and media to attend the show.
The Taiwan Excellence Pavilion, organized by Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), made its debut at CES this year. It featured 45 innovative products from 12 notable Taiwan Excellence Award-winning companies spanning the Automotive Technology, Gaming, Smart Home and Wearable Devices categories. Meanwhile, around 30 Taiwan manufacturers organized the “Taiwan Pavilion” by Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers Association (TEEMA) and TAITRA. In order to make an on-site survey, Mr. Ming-Shy Chen, Deputy Director General of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in L.A., Ms. Elina Lee, Director of Taiwan Trade Center in L.A. and Ms. Andrea Chou, Specialist of Economic Division of TECO in L.A. visited both pavilions and Taiwanese exhibitors during the show.
Moreover, by the invitation of Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), D.D.G. Chen and Walter Yeh, Executive Vice President of TAITRA hosted the Taiwan International Press Conference & Product Launch at CES 2016 on January 7. Highly-valued Taiwanese brands such as Acer, ASUS, Delta, along with ITRI, the Taiwan's largest and one of the world's leading high-tech applied research institutions, revealed their new products and spoke on the region’s innovation in the conference.
