Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Los Angeles proudly presents the Enchanting Taiwan Photo Exhibition to be displayed at Pasadena Public Library (285 East Walnut St.,Pasadena, CA 91101). This fascinating exhibit highlights the multi splendors of Taiwan through spectacular photography. All residents in Pasadena area are welcome and encouraged to view this exciting exhibit.
The Government Information Office of the Republic of China (Taiwan) generously provided the magnificent photographs for the exhibit. Each photograph is a unique work by an outstanding photographer from Taiwan who successfully captures the true essence of Taiwan through the camera’s lens. Techniques referred to as “feeling the wisdom of nature” and “the refinement of culture” are adopted to draw the viewer closer to Taiwan thus creating an entirely new appreciation of Taiwan by viewers throughout the world.
Enchanting Taiwan is comprised of two main themes:
- Scenic Landscapes – Captures Taiwan’s delicate natural paradise worth exploring including delicate scenery, rich forest resources, temperate, subtropical and tropical land features, solemn majestic mountains, and deep magnificent canyons.
- Folk Customs – Folk customs reflect the very pulse of the heart and spirit of the Taiwanese people. Taiwan’s major folk traditions are rooted in traditional agricultural society in China. The rhythm of life as defined by the 24 solar terms of the year – spring planting, summer weeding, autumn harvest, and winter storage – together with myths, legends and religious customs gives rise to harvest celebrations, prayers to gods, charms against evil, ancestor worship, and the full range of practices and ceremonies.
