To better serve the public and respond to the growing demand for consular services, the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Los Angeles (TECO-LA) will introduce several service enhancements beginning June 1, 2026. These adjustments are aimed at reducing waiting times, improving efficiency, and providing a smoother service experience for applicants.
- Expanded Appointment Availability
Beginning June 1, 2026, the following changes will apply to consular services from Monday through Wednesday:
• More online appointment slots will be available.
Appointments will be opened up three months in advance for easier planning.
• Fifteen daily walk-in spots will be available starting at 9:00 a.m. each morning on a first-come, first-served basis.Click here for the Online Appointment System
Please note that emergency situations, including lost passports and urgent travel needs, are exempt from the above arrangements.Individuals requiring emergency assistance may contact TECO-LA's emergency assistance line at 213-923-3591 for assistance.
- Additional Mobile Consular Service Sessions Starting July 2026
To better assist senior citizens and Taiwanese community members living farther from Los Angeles, TECO-LA will add two additional mobile consular service sessions each month beginning in July 2026.Consular staff will provide services at the Culture Center of TECO in Los Angeles and the Culture Center of TECO in Orange County, including passport and document authentication services, helping reduce the need for long-distance travel.Dates, available services, and appointment information for each mobile consular session will be announced separately on TECO-LA's official website and Facebook page.
