- Visa-Exempt Entry
- The U.S. passport holders who are eligible for the visa-exempt entry can stay for up to 90 days in Taiwan. Their passport should still be valid before the end of intended period of stay in Taiwan.

Visa application Requirements:

*The validity period of single entry visa is 3 months. The holder must enter Taiwan within the validity period of the visa issuance. If the visa is overdue, he or she will not be able to enter or ask for extension or reissuing, and he or she will need to apply for a new visa. Applicants are advised to pay attention to their expected arrival time in Taiwan and do not apply for a visa earlier than 3 months before arriving in Taiwan (for example, if they plan to arrive in Taiwan on July 1st of a certain year, please do not apply before April 1st of that year).
- Counter Application: Please make a Reservation . After reservation was completed and an email confirmation with a QR code received, applicants may visit TECO-LA at given time slot with all requirements ready and submit at the counter of TECO-LA. 1:15 pm to 3:45 pm open for walk-in (limit 35 persons); registration for the afternoon walk-in begins at 9 a.m. on the same day.
- Mail-in Application: For residents of Southern California, New Mexico and Arizona only
- Please mail the requirements, Mail-in registration sheet and the visa fee. Remember to attach a postage paid return envelop and sign Mail Delivery Agreement and put inside the mail envelope if you're unavailable to come and pick up the passport at our office. We accept USPS $32 Postage of Priority Express Mail returns. If you use Fedex, UPS, DHL, etc., the return label must include applicant's mailing address as both sender and recipient.(please do not put TECO-LA address on return labels)

- Remarks:
- Visitor Visa holders who are permitted to stay in Taiwan for 60 or 90 days and whose visas bear no such remark as "no extension" may apply at local service centers of the National Immigration Agency for a maximum of 120 or 90 days of extensions.(stay up to 180 days)
- Foreign holders of an ROC resident visa, who have passed inspection and been allowed to enter the country by the National Immigration Agency (NIA), shall apply to the local NIA county/city service center for an Alien Resident Certificate(ARC) within 30 days following their entry. Holders of ARCs must obtain a re-entry permit to re-enter the ROC. - According to the Statute Governing Relations between the Peoples of the Taiwan Area and the Mainland Area and its Enforcement Rules, if the applicant is from Mainland Area(birth place is Mainland China), the proof of having resided outside the Mainland China Area for at least four years is required for visa application. The four-year period of overseas residency means a period of four years calculated from the day following the date of arrival in the foreign country concerned, provided that during such four-year period, any single stay in the Mainland Area by such persons does not exceed 30 days. Where any single stay in the Mainland Area exceeds 30 days, the year during which such stay occurred shall not be included in the calculation of the four-year period.**Additional notice for residency applicant
- Visas are issued as stipulated by Article 12 of the Statute Governing Issuance of ROC Visas for Foreign Passports. As a sovereign nation, the ROC has the right to refuse applications for visas without providing any explanation for such decisions; visa application fee is not refundable.
