Director-General Yvonne Hsiao of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Houston was invited to the Mississippi State Legislature on March 19, where she was presented with a concurrent friendship resolution which was passed by both chambers.
In her speech, Director-General Hsiao expressed gratitude to the Mississippi legislators for their strong support in passing the resolution and for opposing China takes the UNGA Resolution 2758 as a means of excluding Taiwan from international participation.
Taiwan is a key player in global trade, investment, and technology and will encourage stronger trade relations based on the solid foundation of existing bilateral ties.
The Mississippi-Taiwan friendship will continue to thrive and foster dynamic connections and exchanges for the good of Mississippians and Taiwanese.
