American people deeply thank Taiwan for hurricane Helene aid
分享到
When Typhoon Helene brought widespread devastation to the southeastern United States in late September, we swiftly donated $500,000 to support disaster relief efforts in North Carolina and Georgia, hoping to alleviate suffering and aid in swift recovery.
In response, we have received an unexpected outpouring of gratitude for Taiwan’s contribution. We are thankful to have received acknowledgments from North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper, Georgia Governor Brian Kemp, North Carolina Secretary of State Elaine Marshall, North Carolina Taiwan Caucus Co-Chair Ted Alexander, and numerous legislators from both states. We have also received heartfelt thanks from residents and extensive media coverage, such as in The News & Observer (North Carolina) and Global Atlanta (Georgia).
We are honored to have contributed and deeply moved by this shared spirit of solidarity. It is our privilege to underscore that Taiwan remains steadfast in its commitment to partnering with the United States, working together towards a brighter future for both nations.
