Director-General Wang conducted a virtual meeting with Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear. Governor Beshear lauded the long-term positive economic relationship and friendship between Taiwan and Kentucky. He hopes to follow his father’s example and visit Taiwan in the future to further strengthen the bilateral economic partnership.
Governor Beshear also expressed his continued appreciation for Taiwan’s donation of 80,000 surgical masks to Kentucky to help frontline medical workers. DG Wang said Taiwan is always willing to help and is ready to donate more masks if necessary. DG Wang also praised Kentucky’s pandemic response measures, which were early and strict. They also discussed their shared concern over the Hong Kong National Security Law.
The two look forward to meeting in person in the future.
