The 2016 National Memorial Day Parade was held on Constitution Avenue NW, Washington, D.C., on May 30th. This year’s parade paid special tribute to the Flying Tigers of WWII. General Patrick Chen, former Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the ROC (Taiwan) Air Force and also one of the pilots of the Flying Tigers, sat in the convertible motorcade with former pilot Wayne “Whitey” Johnson and tail gunner Don Julliard. The motorcade was followed by large ROC and American flags, and the ROC Veterans Association’s flag unit.
