Lieutenant-Colonel Richard Cole (left) and General Patrick Chen greet one another at a luncheon held in their honor at the Twin Oaks Estate on May 19, 2015. General Chen, a member of the Flying Tigers, later became Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Republic of China Air Force. Lt.-Col. Cole was co-pilot to Colonel James Doolittle for the Doolittle Tokyo Raid, the first operation to strike the Japanese homeland.
