Minister Ching-Lin TSUEI led the team from Taiwan Embassy, Taiwan Medical Mission and Technical Mission to Mhlume, served 463 residents in need with medical assistance from Taiwanese doctors and nurses, and handed over bags of rice, as well as clothes donated by Taiwan enterprise Texray, to wish an early Merry Christmas to residents of Mhlume.
“Cancer Screening Project”, “Taiwan-Africa Vegetable Initiative” and “Woman Business Start-Up Microfinance Revolving Fund” also joined the service for local people. Residents in Mhlume received medical consultation, ultrasound check-up, dispensation of medication as well as health, nutrition and cancer awareness education aiming to enhance the daily health care and balance diet in the community. Taiwan Embassy also promoted Fruit Tree Project, to benefit more and more EmaSwati.
The local MP Sifiso Magagula said that residents were very grateful for Taiwan’s friendship and kind assistance as the medical expense is unaffordable for most residents. Samuel Dlamini, an elderly resident in Mhlume, appreciated Taiwan Embassy’s kindness for the donation of wheelchairs since he was in need of a wheelchair after having his leg amputated.
