Taiwanese Association of Palau (TAP) held a banquet in celebration of Dragon Boat Festival on June 7th evening at Seven Eat Restaurant. Over 100 people attended including members from Friend of Palau National Marine Sanctuary, staff of the Embassy of the Republic of China(Taiwan), Taiwan Technical Mission and their families.
Ambassador Chow thanks Chairman Sam Lee and Board members of TAP for arranging this event. He wished all Taiwanese expatriates in Palau happiness and prosperity. Dragon boat festival is one of the 3 main festivals of Taiwan and it was a great opportunity for all to come and gather to renew friendship as well as make new friends.
Ambassador Chow went on to report to the participants the efforts the Embassy has been doing to enhance the bilateral relations and to promote Palau’s tourism, for example President Tsai’s visit in March, the Fleet of Friendship's visit in April, the increase to 4 weekly flights to Palau from 28 June by China Airlines etc.
Ambassador Chow also introduced Mr. Elia Yobech, President of Board of Directors of Friend of Palau National Marine Sanctuary and the organization’s program manager Adora Nobuo and invited everyone to sign on the Palau Pledge to preserve Palau’s environment.
The participants all enjoyed the delicious food and raffle prizes of wine, air ticket, accommodation packages etc., Ambassador Chow also made a cash donation to TAP.
