But nowadays, the emigration of the rural population has caused a human resource shortage. Besides being farmers, most of them have other jobs, and agriculture is just a sideline. Therefore, high-tech assistance is the trend of the future.
After Taiwan Technical Mission in Indonesia made great achievements in increasing the production of rice seeds, the team introduced drone technology (unmanned aerial vehicle, #UAV) this year and applied it to rice seed production. Using drones with multispectral equipment to monitor and identify the rice field conditions allows accurate and early understanding of the situation of rice fields.
With the assistance of drones, farmers don’t need to check the rice fields early in the morning anymore. They can now enjoy coffee first before checking the fields at a leisurely pace.
