Ambassador Lien Yu-Ping visited Center for Malaysian Chinese studies on 12 June and was received by Chairman Yau, Teck Kong. In discussing the development of the Malaysian Chinese community, Ambassador Lien highlighted Taiwan’s significant influence in education, culture, publishing, and academic exchanges. Over the years, many Malaysian students have pursued their studies in Taiwan and brought their knowledge back home. Taiwan’s rich publishing and cultural resources have also continued to support Chinese-language education and cultural heritage, serving as an important bridge connecting Chinese communities in both places.
To express support and appreciation for center’s dedication, the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Malaysia donated RM5,000 to assist with the acquisition of Taiwan publications and the preservation of archival materials. It is hoped that this contribution will enrich center’s collection of Taiwan-related resources and further promote academic and cultural exchanges.
Ambassador Lien also thanked Chairman Yau, who will soon complete his term at center. During his tenure as President of the The Federation of Alumni Associations of Taiwan Universities, Malaysia.
