24 Taiwanese companies spanning leisure food, beauty care, smart living, and hardware fasteners have come to Malaysia to expand international business opportunities. They aim to connect with related Malaysian industries in a national team format, striving for a win-win collaboration!
James Chang, the director of the Economic Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Malaysia, stated that since the implementation of the New Southbound Policy in 2016, exchanges between Taiwan and New Southbound countries have increased annually. Taiwan is currently Malaysia's fifth-largest trade partner, with major investments in electronics and electrical products, metal products, textiles, and chemical products.
From 2024 to 2026, Malaysia's economic growth forecasts are 4.3%, 4.5%, and 4.7%, respectively, primarily supported by strong domestic demand, a robust labor market, an expanding services sector, and a recovering tourism industry.
The delegation also visited the Taiwan Chamber of Commerce & Industry in Malaysia, engaging in in-depth exchanges with the local business community. Additionally, they explored opportunities in the Malaysian market by inspecting key local distributor Food Merchant.
