The Ministry of Education, Innovation, Gender Relations and sustainable Development and Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) are pleased to announce the distribution of ICT equipment such as laptops, projectors, projector screens and mobile charging carts to both primary and secondary schools on 21 February 2020.
H.E. Douglas Shen, Ambassador of Republic of China (Taiwan) expressed his vision for broadening the ICT learning impact and awareness in education in Saint Lucia. Amb Shen praised the team for the speedy implementation of the “Agreement of ICT for Educational Development” signed by Minister Dr. Gale T.C. Rigobert and himself last November. He believes that by providing teachers and students with proper ICT equipment and guidance, they will be empowered with competitive IT skills and capabilities to cope with future challenges.
Students from the Entrepot Secondary School were delighted to join with Hon. Dr. Gale Rigobert, the Minister of Education, Innovation and Gender Relations, who remarked on the undergoing training and equipment for students. Various e-learning passages are made possible with the introduction of versatile educational resources and ICT provisions. Moreover, with the provision of the equipment, the Ministry sets to encourage more participation from primary and secondary school teachers in incorporating digital perceptions into pedagogical teachings. The sustainability of IT teaching and learning elevate and fortify the fundamental spirit of Saint Lucia education system.
The distribution of the equipment is just the beginning for further strengthening cooperation between Taiwan and Saint Lucia in Education. There are a serie of ICT related seminars, workshops, capacity-building programmes and competitions for both teachers and students planned in the days ahead.
