2019 “Taiwan Scholarship” Programs highly praised by young talents of St Lucia

The 2019 “Taiwan Scholarship” Programs are well received by Saint Lucian students. This year, the Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) received 105 applications, 65 of which for Taiwan Scholarship, 28 for ICDF Scholarship and 12 for I-SHOU Medical Scholarship. Most of the applicants have acquired excellent academic performance, which suggests that Taiwan Scholarships have become their first choice when it comes to study abroad.
The interview had been conducted by the Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) and the Ministry of Education of Saint Lucian Government 22-23March 2019 at the Embassy.
Also, there will be a written exam and Skype interviews for I-SHOU Medical Scholarship applicants later in April. Awardees’ list will be announced on the Embassy’s FACEBOOK page and website on 30 June 2018.
Since the re-establishment of diplomatic relationship between the two countries in 2007, over 1,330 Saint Lucian students have applied for various scholarship programmes offered by the Government of the Republic of China (Taiwan). Among them, 148 students are granted scholarship. Many have completed their studies in Taiwan and returned to Saint Lucia to contribute their expertise acquired in Taiwan.
