Taiwanese contemporary dance group B. Dance presented "Floating Flowers" at the Supervisual Gala of the Kuopio Dance Festival.
On 14 June 2024, Representative Janet Chang had the privilege of attending one of the most successful pieces, 'Floating Flowers,' by the Taiwanese contemporary dance group B. Dance at the Supervisual Gala of the Kuopio Dance Festival. The performance was a testament to the group's talent and the cultural richness it brought to the stage.
"Floating Flowers" is inspired by a traditional Taiwanese religious celebration during the Ghost Festival, one of the country's most beautiful and popular Buddhist ceremonies. Floating lanterns placed on water are meant to worship deities, send away bad luck, and bring happiness. The top-class performers amazed the audience in Kuopio with stunning choreography and a magical atmosphere. That evening, Finnish audiences enjoyed diverse dance styles based on Asian traditions, martial arts, and contemporary dance techniques.
