Ambassador Lily Li-Wen Hsu joined the on-line kick-off meeting of the Climate and Ocean Risk Vulnerability Initiative(CORVI) Project in Belize on August 14.
The project is a collaboration among Taiwan ICDF, the Ocean Affairs Council of the Republic of China (Taiwan), the Belize Government and the Stimson Center, a leading think tank in the US.
By assessing a diverse range of ecological, financial, and political risks, CORVI will give decision makers critical insight into the challenges their coastal communities face, and hence sharpen the tool for coping with climate change, improving climate governance and boosting resilience.
In her remarks, Ambassador Hsu thanked all parties for their great efforts to make the CORVI Project possible in Belize and expressed her best wishes for its successful implementation.
The Embassy will continue to work with the Belize Government and other like-minded partners to build a more resilient and sustainable future for Belize.
