Taiwan is promoting women empowerment program with Belize and other allies in Central America!
The Embassy was delighted to participate in the Regional Forum of Central America under the program of “Assisting the Economic Empowerment of Women in Latin America & the Caribbean in the Post-Pandemic of COVID-19- International Initiative”, jointly with Hon. Elvia Vega-Samos, Minister of State of Ministry of Human Development, Families and Indigenous Peoples' Affairs, and Ms. Maya Ch'oc, Executive Director of Sarstoon Temash Institute for Indigenous Management (STIIM) in Belize, who were invited as the Belizean representatives of the Forum’s thematic discussion. Being more honored, H.E. Dame Froyla Tzalam, Governor General of Belize, delivered her remarks to the said Forum in the way of video recording, to speak about crucial elements of capacity building, economic self-reliance of women, and eliminating domestic violence and gender bias.
During the recorded remarks, Ambassador David Kuan-chou Chien also mentioned that women, as the backbones of society, played a key role to boost the national economy and developments, and Taiwan would keep working closely with Belize to share our technics and experience on women empowerment and other related issues. As Taiwan is a faithful ally of Belize, the Embassy looks forward to further cooperation and deeper partnership with the Government of Belize for advancing the benefits of our two peoples.
