Ambassador Remus Li-Kuo Chen was invited to participate in a Ceremony for donating equipment and materials under the Integration of the Value Chain in Fisheries and Aquaculture Project to the Ministry of Blue Economy and Civil Aviation through the Belize Fisheries Department on November 26.
For this 2-year long project executed by OSPESCA attached to SICA, Taiwan government committed $1,500,000 dollars and the regional counterparts contributed together $250,000 dollars. Taiwan’s four strong allies, Belize, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua will definitely benefit from this meaningful Project.
The donated equipment and materials included COVID-19 testing booths, thermometers, laptops, and so on, were integral to the enhanced precautious measures against the devastating virus, mainly to benefit fishermen cooperatives and associations, the Belize Fisheries Department and related stakeholders. We applaud the wise decision and effective execution of this timely and crucial program initiated by OSPESCA under SICA and Belize Fisheries Department of the Ministry of Blue Economy and Civil Aviation.
