Deputy Representative Jason Poyuan Ma Speaks on Taiwan Strait Situation at KU Leuven’s “Global Regional Forum”

Deputy Representative Jason Poyuan Ma was invited to speak at the “Global Regional Forum” hosted by KU Leuven, where he discussed the current situation in the Taiwan Strait.
During the meeting, Deputy Representative Ma highlighted that China has increased its political, economic, and military pressure on Taiwan. In response, Taiwan is actively strengthening its defense capabilities and bolstering its “whole-of-society resilience.” Taiwan also urges all like-minded international partners to cooperate in sending clear messages that the world has a common interest in peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait and that the status quo must be strongly supported. Furthermore, Taiwan is committed to contributing to the international community by sharing its expertise and experiences in areas such as economic security and public health.
The forum was moderated by Nadia Dala, a well-respected expert on journalism. Other speakers included Hon. Baron Johan Swinnen, Dr. Adib Abdulmajid, Dr. Alina Cherviatsova, and Ms. Kathleen Willekens. During the event, Deputy Representative Ma and the other speakers took the opportunity to exchange views on multiple global challenges with the faculty and students of KU Leuven.
