Director General David Cheng-Wei Wu was honored to host the OCAC gala dinner on behalf of Ms. Hsu Chia-ching, Minister of the OCAC, ROC (Taiwan), witnessing the leadership transition of TCCO alongside overseas Taiwanese business leaders from around the world.
The NSW Shadow Minister for Housing, The Hon. Scott Farlow, Shadow Minister for Fair Trading, Mr. Tim James, The Hon. Mark Latham, MLC, and Clr. Barbara Ward of Ku-Ring-Gai Council joined DG Wu in recognizing Erica’s dedication to broadening connectivity among business communities.
DG Wu congratulated Erica Liu, the 25th TCCO President for the great works she has done in the past year. He also took this opportunity to express his gratitude to the three parliamentarians present who recognized Taiwan’s democracy, condemned the attempted political interference and intimidation by the PRC, and rejected any foreign government’s interference in Australian politics by passing a motion unanimously in early June.
In his remarks, DG Wu mentioned that in Taiwan’s bid for accession to the CPTPP, the support from overseas Taiwanese business communities is indispensable. As President Lai underscored in his inauguration speech, “Wherever the sun shines around the world, there are Taiwanese companies stimulating local development while also enriching the livelihoods of the Taiwanese people.”
We anticipate that under Frank’s leadership, the TCCO will continue to flourish and contribute to the strong ties between Taiwan and Australia.
